Exciting news! Hack Library School and Hiring Librarians are collaborating on a project to explore and share insights about the career and job placement support provided by our library schools. We’ll look at who provides these services, how they can help current students prepare for the job market before graduation, how they can support alumni looking for work, and how best to get the assistance you need!
Interviews with career center staff will begin rolling out both here, at HLS, and at Hiring Librarians over the next few months. However! We’re a pretty small staff and don’t have a representative from each and every library school to conduct and write up the interviews. So, if you’ve been looking for an easy way to get involved with HLS, an opportunity to beef up your interviewing, writing, and publication skills, or are just curious about the topic, please reach out! We’d love to hear from students around the world who are willing to get in touch with the career professionals at their school and conduct a short (in-person, Zoom, or email) interview – we’ll even provide the questions! Please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us who you are and what school(s) you’re interested in talking to.
Otherwise, stay tuned over the coming months for some cool new features!
