Hello everyone! We’d like to a take a moment to quickly introduce the new editorial team for the blog.
As we noted in our farewell post last week, Melissa left behind some pretty big shoes to fill. We’d like to introduce the three team members who will be stepping into those shoes!
Our new Managing Editor is Vince Garin. Vince is entering his second year of his MLIS program at the University of Denver. His focus is on academic librarianship, particularly, subject specialist librarianship in English Literature. As he begins his tenure as Managing Editor, he is deeply humbled by the team’s trust in him, and he looks forward to contributing to the great tradition that Hack Library School has built.
This year’s Community Manager is Kait McClary. She is currently studying towards her MLIS at Western University in Canada, focusing on public librarianship. Kait is the one to blame if the HLS webpages or social media feeds fall out of date, but she promises to do her best to keep our community running smoothly!
Jodi Coalter is our incoming Consulting Editor. Jodie is currently working toward a joint MLIS/MSIM degree at Wayne State University. Her undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies informs her work exploring data literacy and STEAM initiatives in academic communities. Living in Michigan with her partner and their dog, the trio often take vacations centered on citizen science initiatives and birding or botanical projects. Her previous work has appeared on The Earth Story blog, and in the Special Libraries Association Information Technology Division Blog. She looks forward to working collaboratively with other blogs and publications, and has already worked hard to that end already!
Feel free to reach out to the editorial team at hacklibschool@gmail.com.
