Awesome app alert! The folks over at We Need Diverse Books have created the OurStory app, a book discovery tool to help you locate books with diverse subject matter and from underrepresented creators. The free version offers users an opportunity to take a quiz to receive curated recommendations, but you can receive additional features and support the organization’s work by selecting one of their paid membership options.
Pew Internet Research has a new report on social media out for 2018. David Lee King gives a great synopsis of highlights from the report and its implications for libraries.

Interested in working with transfer students? Erin Richter-Weikum and Kevin Seeber recently published Library Experiences of Transfer Students at an Urban Campus, which uses surveys and interviews to understand transfer students’ use of the library and comfort with finding information after transferring.
