Weekly Spotlight!

Each week, we reflect on the top articles, blog posts, tweets, news, thoughts, and other tidbits we’ve found interesting or useful. Check out what our writers have spotted this week in library news. Enjoy!

Kelly Jensen posted The State of Sexual Harassment in the Library on Book Riot, which includes stories from those who have experienced sexual harassment in the library.

As many of you are probably aware, New York Observer columnist Andre Walker unleashed the wrath of librarians and library advocates on Sunday when he tweeted that, “Nobody goes to libraries anymore.” Walker has since apologized and admitted he was wrong after tens of thousands of people on twitter defended libraries against Walker’s initial claim.

It’s highly encouraging to see such enthusiasm for libraries, and this story illustrates that speaking up can indeed change people’s minds!
