HLS Weekly Round Up

Editor’s Note: Each week, we reflect on the top articles, blog posts, tweets, news, thoughts, and other tidbits we’ve found interesting or useful. Enjoy!

Chris Bourg gave a talk at the Ontario Library Association on how libraries are not neutral. It’s great.

Meanwhile, I was at the ALISE conference, where the theme was social justice. Check out the live-tweets, and take a look at the articles that are mentioned throughout.

Have you heard of the Art+Feminism Wikipedia movement? This year will mark the second annual event. It’s essentially a flashmob where people all over the world come together to create and edit Wikipedia articles related to women and the arts. My VRC is partnering with the University of Georgia Libraries this year to host an event. It will be my first major program and we’ve already generated a lot of interest. It’s not too late to get involved, so check it out!
